Lake Dreams – can you help me out?

Last year i entered this photo into a local photo contest and to my surprise this photo was one of the three winners. And a few days ago i received a message that the organization behind that contest had entered my photo in yet another contest. So i thanked them and suggested they should share the photo on social media, since the most votes get awarded.

So i thought it would be fun to get some international votes for the photograph too ๐Ÿ™‚
I would be very glad if you are willing to vote for this photo in the contest, let’s see if i have a chance. You may have to search for my photo, should be on the first page, but not sure as other entries might be added. You should click on ‘STEM’ (which is Dutch for VOTE)
Link to contest

ps. If you don’t want a newsletter, don’t forget to tick off the newsletter when you cast your vote. Or perhaps you want to learn some Dutch, then it’s ok ๐Ÿ˜›

And in the mean time, enjoy the scenery just as the Germans on the photo and me behind the lens did ๐Ÿ™‚

We had quite a lot of snowfall yesterday, so i decided to go out for a stroll to take a few pictures. It’s nice when the image you have in your mind comes alive.

This is a panorama of 2 stitched photos

A few images from last weekend while in Hellevloetsluis. A beautiful marina with calm water created the perfect opportunity for some nice sunset shots. And a special for you: the lighthouse is a bonus ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, almost Sunday but what the hack ๐Ÿ™‚
These are actual reflections as seen in a building close-by. When you walk alongside this building, the perspective changes dramatically due to the workings of the various windows. No idea how they work, but it looks very nice imho

This is my entry for the weekly Monochrome Madness challenge as hosted by Leanne Cole (http://leanecole.com.au/) – a statue with lots of reflections in the mirrors

Saw this today as we drove past this with the car. Really looks cool when traveling 30 mph, but its also fun to walk past it and see oneself being reflected multiple times. I’m sure i’ll post some more shots soon

Last year in September we enjoyed our last day in Croatia with a dinner at the beach close to Split. Had my camera with me and shot this panoram of the beautiful sunset

Benmore klein

A while back in beautiful New Zealand we came across lake Benmore where there was no wind and beautiful mountains in the background, causing these dreamlike reflections in the water. On eof the highlights of our journey through the land of LOTR ๐Ÿ™‚

Hilgelo met Riet en molen

The clouds reflect on themselves
As they drift off in the evening sky
Contemplating their existence
They’re sure to vanish in thin air

The water is receptive to all
View and motion touching
Its surface while the deep
Remains still and unmoved

The mill stands proud
As a tiny point in history
She carries the past in her bones
Long gone on this present day

Standing on the shore of the lake
I see that natural and man-made
Are not so different after all as
Each is contained in the flow of life
