18: Flower of Compassion

Flower of Compassion

Oh flower of the heart
Shine your light over us
Open up and show your beauty
The guiding force

You know what it is like
To be vulnerable
Naked and alone
You know there is no need
To be afraid of our tears

You grow so easily
As you are inherent within us
On the good soil of pure intent
Our wish for all to be happy
Stems from your seeds

Oh flower of compassion
Love is your guiding light
Teach us to be human
Help us to accept
The basic uncertainty of life

This poem was inspired by the documentary Crazy Wisdom (2011) about the late Tibetan Buddhist Master Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Rinpoche taught people how to become warriors of Shambhala, how to become genuine human beings. A beautiful and encouraging message worth contemplating.

Some shots from the celebration of World Animal Day at the children’s farm from last Sunday. Really lovely to walk around and seeing all the children and parents enjoy all the animals and the activities which were organized.look-a-likes-kleinfabienne  hold-on  petting run-to-the-chickenposing rain  statues stroke-me the-boots

Rain in the forest

Rain forest

While staying in the rain forest, one can expect to have rain right? 🙂
So when we were in Cape Tribulation in the upper part of Queensland, we experienced quite a bit of showers. Very impressive to see it happen.

And with a roof over our heads, we had nothing to complain about either lol

Umbrellas

Yesterday my parents and i visited the city of Deventer. It’s a lovely old Hanze city with lots of small narrow streets with nice and peculiar shops. As there will be a festival next week which focuses on height. It’s called Deventer on Stilts and I’m pretty sure thats why these umbrellas are hanging all over the city. And with the rainy weather of yesterday the people ‘on ground level’ also used the umbrellas. Nice complementary work by these supporting actors 😉

Lightning strikes

Yesterday after the storm clouds it indeed turned into lightning later on. Later than expected the thunder and lightning kept me busy until late night. I was surprised to see that I’d catched the lightning on the camera. This is one of the photos from last night

And sometimes you want to create something special out of the ordinairy.. this is a picture i took at Kings Canyon in Australia, with clouds reflected in a little pool of water after the rain. Yesterday i played a bit with it, this is the result

Uluru

When we visited Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Australia, we were hoping to see a spectacular sunrise.. instead we were treated with something even more rare and beautiful: rain!
This is a picture just before it started raining.. clouds gathering over the sacred Aboriginal hill.. really amazing place!
