As i was strolling through the photo collection of our 2013 trip to Scotland i found out that my dad has much more an eye for the street(s) than i do. This is one such example. Beautiful colored houses, and a lovely street in general. Great to see his pictures too, since he took a lot of nice photographs very much worth sharing. To be continued?!
Some shots from the celebration of World Animal Day at the children’s farm from last Sunday. Really lovely to walk around and seeing all the children and parents enjoy all the animals and the activities which were organized.
Had fun with the smartphone.. i see tons of new possibilities focusing on a macro level.. patterns everywhere 🙂
Here is a gallery with a few macroscapes
This beautiful church called the Walburgischurch is the perfect setting for having the World Press Photo 2016. Today i visit the exhibition and there were quite some astounding pictures. Also lots of shocking pictures, and some very fine quality natural beauty. Highlight for me was the Kids Rights exhibition where ‘the Youngsters’ were presented to the audience. One of them is Malala. The Kids Rights have their own version of the Nobel Peace Price called the International Children’s Peace Prize and its heartwarming to read about kids in difficult situation finding inspiration and starting to do something which causes a change.
As i was looking at the photos i also noticed the beauty of the place. In the gallery you can find a few images of the inside and outside of the location. The inside is the middle part of the church, the ship it’s called i believe. The outside was something i came up with while editing the HDR and i think it turned out quite alright 🙂
Wish you a lovely week
Today lots of flowers for you! Hortensia’s are magnificent at the moment and so is the Butterfly-bush. Had fun doing quick edits, since i knew i had many more to come.. but as it is now bedtime, a great moment to stop and enjoy the result(s) 🙂
Completely surrounded by the force of nature
I can only stand and look in awe
As the lightning is followed by loud rumbling
A car alarm goes off in the distance
Triggered by the impact of the blasts
Glad I’m standing safe inside
Cause no matter how amazing the spectacle
Lightning can strike with all of its might
Today two friends and i went to the start of the Giro d’Italia in Apeldoorn, a city about 100km from where i live. As it was great weather, it was pretty busy in the city. At the start there is a Velodrome where the riders were to start. Before that we strolled through the parking lot where the buses of the various themes were standing. Saw a lot of riders and we then checked the start from the inside.
We then checked a bit of the course before we went to the city to find a bit of comfort and shade. Altogether a very nice event to watch and due to the great weather it was actually very crowded. Great crowd and great fun! And to top it of for the dutchies, a Dutch rider named Tom Dumoulin managed to win the prologue by no less than 2 hundreds of a second and may now ride in the pink jersey.
I leave you with a few shots of the day.
As promised some more pictures in a gallery of the Vragenderveen with the watchtower. Really amazing view over the bog, which covers quite a large area. They even got Crane birds in here, wonderful to see them. Don’t know whether i’ll be able to catch them on camera though as they’re very much secluded
