A simple thing

This morning the train was having a bit of delay. So wasn’t exactly the way i was planning to start my week. Shows that things not always (almost never lol) go my way.
And i guess that’s good. Cause i had a beautiful meeting in the next train. As i was letting other people pass, i moved a little bit backwards in the train compartment.
Standing on this new spot, at first i didn’t see the guide dog. But when i looked down i saw his two front legs and in my thoughts i said hello to the dog.
And before i knew it, she laid her face onto my shoe. Such a simple gesture but it gave me fuel for the rest of the day.
As i had to move on, i gently moved my feet and gave her a little rub on the back of her head before i moved out of the train.

The simple things in life can mean a lot πŸ™‚

Turning night into day

A friendly person on another website asked me to post a B&W image without the vignette you see on the first image. So i thought it would be fun to show the original image in color too as it shows the difference between the 3. A difference of day and night πŸ™‚

ps. i’ll be off for a few days. Hope to return with nice pictures

Paklenica showing its beauty

A steep road brought us to this place, close to Paklenica National park and close to the coast in Croatia. Really intense ride up, but this view was well worth it πŸ™‚

Giro D’Italia

Today two friends and i went to the start of the Giro d’Italia in Apeldoorn, a city about 100km from where i live. As it was great weather, it was pretty busy in the city. At the start there is a Velodrome where the riders were to start. Before that we strolled through the parking lot where the buses of the various themes were standing. Saw a lot of riders and we then checked the start from the inside.

We then checked a bit of the course before we went to the city to find a bit of comfort and shade. Altogether a very nice event to watch and due to the great weather it was actually very crowded. Great crowd and great fun! And to top it of for the dutchies, a Dutch rider named Tom Dumoulin managed to win the prologue by no less than 2 hundreds of a second and may now ride in the pink jersey.

I leave you with a few shots of the day.

There it was

Walking in the forest at the end of the day
Worries of work and life have to give way
For what can withstand the stillness?
If only there is a tiny bit of willingness
To listen and to see without the senses

The trunk

Only being there as the dance advances
Heart to heart with the flowers and trees
Both enjoying the chilling warm breeze
With the sunlight touching the landscape
Highlighting beauty of various size and shape
