The Traveler

Never worries about the time
Unaware of the path traveled
Just continuing onward
The journey happens as you slide
Each moment uniquely yours
Ready to be shared with the world
When you get back home safe

So why not bring your house with you?

Beauty and Sadness

Here are a few images of animals i photographed at 2 different zoo’s. The Wolf and the Monkey are photographed at Artis Zoo, the Snow Owl and the Deer are shot at Anholter Schweiz. The beauty and tragedy of zoo’s.. its a marvel to be able to see so many beautiful animals on one day and its sad to see the conditions they’re in. Guess that’s why i choose black & white for this serie.. And there is a documentary on Dutch television i’m going to watch, which deals with this subject (it’s called ‘the end of the zoo’).. in the end we should question whether educational (or is it economical) value comes before animal freedom? Lots to be said about, but i think i can end with an anecdote: when i was young(er) i wanted to become director of a zoo.. that is, until i realized the conditions the animals live in. And now no longer living that dream πŸ˜‰

This beautiful church called the Walburgischurch is the perfect setting for having the World Press Photo 2016. Today i visit the exhibition and there were quite some astounding pictures. Also lots of shocking pictures, and some very fine quality natural beauty. Highlight for me was the Kids Rights exhibition where ‘the Youngsters’ were presented to the audience. One of them is Malala. The Kids Rights have their own version of the Nobel Peace Price called the International Children’s Peace Prize and its heartwarming to read about kids in difficult situation finding inspiration and starting to do something which causes a change.

As i was looking at the photos i also noticed the beauty of the place. In the gallery you can find a few images of the inside and outside of the location. The inside is the middle part of the church, the ship it’s called i believe. The outside was something i came up with while editing the HDR and i think it turned out quite alright πŸ™‚

Wish you a lovely week

Diggin

This big fellow was waiting for its driver to arrive today, so it had to wait all weekend. But even when motionless, one can see the power of this yellow beauty. Tried a lower angle to create a more solid image of this digging machine

There it was

Walking in the forest at the end of the day
Worries of work and life have to give way
For what can withstand the stillness?
If only there is a tiny bit of willingness
To listen and to see without the senses

The trunk

Only being there as the dance advances
Heart to heart with the flowers and trees
Both enjoying the chilling warm breeze
With the sunlight touching the landscape
Highlighting beauty of various size and shape
