As i gaze into the night

As i gaze into the starry night
Three Kings bring wonder and delight
The light shines far away from here
Yet it feels like you’re always near
Whenever i look up into the night sky
Your signature is the first to catch my eye
Can’t explain this striking familiarity
Orion simply pulls me in like gravity

a.ka. the Milky Way! Our very home, as seen from the hills in southern France. This is an image composed of 5 photos. The trees you can see in the top are actually 180 degrees from the tree in the bottom part. So you’ll have to think/make the curve yourself πŸ™‚

Moving Moon

Moving Moon2

I can see the moon
Reflecting in the nightsky
Daylight of the sun

The moon is bright at the moment. And when i couldnt get any nice pictures of the surface of the moon, i decided to play with the light instead. It’s called ICM (intentional camera movement), but to me it’s just fun to play with the camera and the light.

What do you think? πŸ™‚

The Tree and the three of Orion

Tree and Orion4

While trying to capture some nice images of a mill i noticed this tree with the stars in the background. Tried a few shots and actually got quite a good result. Rushed home again to warm up and see the images. Right of the tree you can see the three stars of Orion’s Belt. A clear night this evening and even at the edge of the city there were still plenty of stars to see!

2016 started off with a clear night sky. And as the camera was there, i took a few pictures. Blurred the tree in the front a bit to make it resemble fire and tried to enhance the night sky. Still trying to figure out the best way to capture stars, but in the mean time i’m having fun just trying πŸ™‚

And euh.. don’t mind the chromatic aborration πŸ˜‰

Milky Way

My first image of the Milky Way from one of our holiday homes in Croatia. What a luxury to see the Milky Way from the backyard terrace.. reminds me how serious the light pollution is in western Europe… cause i wish i could see this every night πŸ™‚
