When i was visiting my brother and his girlfriend, i came across a beautiful canvas of a painting by Gustav Klimt. I have no idea which painting it is, but i found it striking. Very interesting patterns and such a subtle embrace. I just had to take a few detail shots of it..
Ofcourse all copyright belong to Gustav Klimt
After seeing Mitza’s beautiful painting i couldn’t resist creating some ‘drawings’ myself, while using phtoos of the city of Deventer only.
Tried a lot of different layers and effects, which was fun to do. It is incredible how sophisticated today’s software is.. i wish you all an inspiring and creative weekend!
The famous Dutch painter Piet Mondriaan celebrated his 144th birthday. Well, he didn’t but the people in our city did. The villa where he used to live in his younger days is now a pretty cool museum and they’ve organized a lot of activities surrounding the birthday of the painter. He’s famous for using colored squares with certain angles, very interesting to see. And as a treat, they’ve painted the local church with a video projection. If you’re interested in the entire projection, check out this link
Warning: Vertical video syndrome! 🙂
And here are some shots to give you an impression how it looked!
As we walk through our existence
Life changes come and go
Sometimes we struggle
Sometimes we fight
As the pain from deep inside haunts us
As with all things impermanent
Life too can change for the good
Pain can turn into pleasure
Sharing friendship and laughter
As the love from deep within shines on
As we try to express the inexpressible
Words fail us whenever we might try
To speak out what matters most to us
Leaving us speechless with too much to say
As the moment of insight glides from our reach
And yet it is our power to be
Expressing our human nature
Vulnerable and whole
Leave out all distinctions
And express who you want to be
Yesterday my parents and i visited the city of Deventer. It’s a lovely old Hanze city with lots of small narrow streets with nice and peculiar shops. As there will be a festival next week which focuses on height. It’s called Deventer on Stilts and I’m pretty sure thats why these umbrellas are hanging all over the city. And with the rainy weather of yesterday the people ‘on ground level’ also used the umbrellas. Nice complementary work by these supporting actors 😉
